start construction. but as a kid in the 50's in newark, new jersey, i was, shall we say, a little fey, a little high strung, my mother used to say. i guess like a moth to the flame attracted all kinds of undesirable attention including from some of the teachers. we had a football/history teacher who just loved tormenting me, surrounding me with other members of the football team, some who i got to know a little better later, if you understand my drift. the point was there was no place to go. you felt so shamed when you were being bullied or when you were being exposed. i didn't want to talk to my parents, they were hard-working, i didn't want to burden them with that so i kept it inside for a very long time. there's a book out about keeping things inside like your orientation or whatever and they say that when you have ghost wounds. you don't see anything but they are there from that kind of experience. so when i got to a place where i could actually do some kind of beneficial act around this issue of bullying, i listened closely to many of the horror stories that we heard and i

whether he would get the o challenge from the very popular mayor of newark, at least popular in some circles cory booker. >> what's interesting about this is that cory booker put out a web video which is how all the a politicians announce these days. he said i'm interested in obnning for senate. that job isn't actually open at this point. senator frank lautenberg holds that seat, a long-time democrat. he has not telegraphed what he's going to do. when cory booker put out this statement that he was going to run lautenberg said there's a time for politics.au it's next year. that's when i'll address it. lautenberg is 80 years old. he's in his 80s. he might decide to run.h he could be... decide to keep that challenge afloat there. we could either be talking about a democratic primary or booker is very well known. he's got a strong national presence.el so this is somebody who could clear the field for the democrats but either way it will be competitive. republicans always say that they think he's within their sights.. chris christie proved to republicans that a republican can win there. t

's what is making travel so perilous. whether it is the winds in newark or laguardia now or just rain slowing things down, or these winds gusting to 30 in chicago, 23 in nashville, gusting to 45 earlier in indianapolis. it is the winds that are making travel so perilous and so dangerous and impacting the roads and the airports. blizzard warnings here from central indiana to ohio. again, that means the snow coupled with the winds. but look at this, 12 inches, a foot plus of snow possible in western new york. the worst of it tonight until tomorrow in new york state. and then we will begin to see this move out. hefty total of snow. here is the movement as we head toward early tomorrow. you see new york, new york state ensconced in snow. western pennsylvania as well. then by thursday morning, it is still there, and into maine and finally pushes all out. so victor, we're not done with this here. we have another two days, good news all the severe threat coming to an end by tonight and snow still a factor with the winds. >> rough weather on the start of the christmas travel season. rough wea

a billion dollars a day. that's just one port. this is going to be newark, the gulf ports down in houston. adam: what seems to be a sticking point is a fee that the men and women who unload the containers get paid by the weight of the container. one thing not knowing too much of the details of where the hold-up is, the containers are getting larger and larger. what the ports are saying is it's too expensive. it hit a point where the the fees can't keep growing. they want to cap it. that seems to be where they are at loggerheads. you don't want to shut down commerce in the united states and that's what this will do. liz: it would stretch from maine to houston apparently. it would choke supply chains across the country. and whether or not the federal government would step in and mediate this one is going to be a key issue going forward for any similar labor disputes. david: if the government does, of course the obama administration has been seen as being pro union, would that continue to be pro union even though being pro union could cripple this economy. liz: it depends on whoois on the bo

now, chairman of the department of medicine at newark beth israel medical center. what do you make of it? >> well, he's 88 years old. this is a president who's been in exceptionally good health. i mean, he jumps out of airplanes at the age of 85 which i thought was an absolutely amazing guy. i can recall his illnesseses over his life which included a thyroid problem, you remember when he was president. one worries about an 88-year-old who comes in with trach yo bronchitis with a chronic cough, perhaps a low-grade fever. gregg: what does that mean, pneumonia? >> yeah, well, it could mean knew known ya. bronchitis is an inin mission of the tubes that go into the lung, and you have trouble clearing mucus. you have trouble coughing, and coughing causes a lot of problems, so pneumonia is a possibility. and then when you're that old, you run the risk of a blood infection, and that can be lethal for somebody over the age of 75. gregg: what happens? >> it'll cause organ failure, and it is often times fatal. so i think the doctors are playing it safe. put him on antibiotics -- gregg: right.

between journal square and 33rd street in manhattan. on november 12, we brought back service to newark. we have continued around-the-clock recovery efforts on november 26, path was resumed to the world trade center. as you noted, mr. chairman, i'm proud to say that just yesterday i joined employees for the inaugural run of restore hoboken services 33rd street on the westside of manhattan. with that we have restored at least limited service to all of the stations in our network. we learned during the storm that the ingenuity and dedication of our public service is unrivaled. in the first days after the storm one of our workers, tom all new, risked his own life to jump into several feet of murky flood waters to restart a pump by hand preventing further flood damage. tom o'neil and his own words was just doing his job, and it's that attitude and fortitude of all our past employees that continue to bring us back. we could have not, we could not have done this on their own. companies in fact a from all of the country felt in the recovery. in perl mississippi the employees of trilogy communicati
